In the Arms of an Angel is a painting about hope beyond our understanding and about the mystery of what may exist beyond our earthly life.
We do not know what awaits us beyond the boundaries of the world we know and understand.
An angel's embrace leaves this question unanswered. It is simply an image of hope in the face of the unknown — something deeply personal, something each of us understands in our own way.
Oil on canvas, worked with palette knives and brushes. The sky is laid in thin, pale turquoise and cream, and the wing is built up thickly in white so it stands off the canvas and catches whatever light the room has. The two figures are kept softer than everything around them: the still point in the middle of all that movement. Below, the cloud breaks into rose, lilac and gold.
40 × 60 cm (16″ × 24″), 1.6 cm deep, stretched on a wooden frame and ready to hang. Painted in 2026. One of a kind: this picture exists once and is never repeated as a second canvas.
I sign the front, and sign and date the back. It travels with a certificate of authenticity made out in your name — if it is a gift, tell me the name of the person receiving it and the certificate will carry theirs. I can also ship it straight to them.
