An original oil painting made as a commission: a bride and groom holding each other at the edge of a quiet lake, under summer trees, with the water and the far bank catching the light behind them.

Oil on canvas, built up with palette knives and brushes. The grass and the foliage are laid in thick, largely unmixed strokes, so the surface stands off the canvas and shifts as the light moves through the room. The two figures are kept softer and quieter than everything around them — the still point in the middle of all that texture.

This painting is a commission reserved for Spencer and is not available to anyone else. If you would like a painting of your own wedding, commissions are arranged by email at contact@myriyevskyy.com — the subject, size, price and timing are agreed in writing before anything is painted.

I sign the front, and sign and date the back. It travels with a certificate of authenticity made out in your name — if it is a gift, tell me the name of the person receiving it and the certificate will carry theirs. I can also ship it straight to them.
